Through the Mirror of Time

From humble beginnings outside of Chicago Illinois, Edward Wormley emerged as one of the most important furniture designers of the 20th Century.  The storied collaboration with DUNBAR beginning in 1931 lasted four decades and saw over fifteen-hundred designs, many now icons of modernism, brought to homes and offices across the US.

Wormley's success as DUNBAR's Design Director came from blending classical elements in a modern way while maintaining high craftsmanship details and quality of materials.  The resulting furniture was sophisticated, refined and hugely successful.  MoMA's "Good Design" Exhibitions beginning in 1950 catapulted Wormley into the annals of history and ensured his place alongside greats of the time including Charles & Ray Eames and George Nelson

Original Edward Wormley designs from the 20th Century are blue chip works collected around the world and used prolifically in today's most elegant interiors by the world's top designers.

Today, DUNBAR still produces Edward Wormley's designs with the same attention to detail and craftsmanship that bore the company's success.  And while not every design is in current production, the entire historic Edward Wormley design portfolio is available for our use.  To begin a conversation regarding an original design that you do not find in production, please email.
